Quality is a big focus for us when building practice management software at Curve Dental. The same attention to quality applies when it comes to building a team. As a result of Battery Ventures' recent investment in the company, we're looking to grow our team so that we can continue to improve upon our existing technology, Curve Hero. Additionally, we’re designing exciting new products that will help propel our VIP customers (all Curve Dental customers are VIP customers) to the next level in providing dental services to patients.
Every time I employ my signature, it looks like I’m writing in Klingon. That can’t be English. Somehow, that weird looking thing has come to symbolize all that is me over the years and when I need to prove I’m me, my pen gestures with a flourish that makes most maestros jealous. I may be overselling it, but our signature becomes an important part of who we are and how we prove our identity.
The internet is an amazing place. Tons of information flying back and forth every day, connecting the world like never before in history. It seems like magic, only it is anything but magic. It requires very complicated infrastructure to facilitate this elaborate communication across the entire planet.
Using the web requires Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to connect you to the internet. When you are streaming videos or checking updates on your social media accounts, ISPs make that possible for you. Although these services are very reliable today, they are not infallible and sometimes service becomes unavailable. Since Curve Hero is a cloud application that relies on the internet, this can halt an office in their tracks in the rare event that an internet connection is not available.
This is where our new offline functionality shines.
Curve Hero’s scheduler is now available in a read-only capacity whenever you don’t have an internet connection. There are limitations to this:
- You have to have already logged in to Hero before the internet connection becomes unavailable.
- When you browse through your scheduler, the browser remembers the data you’ve looked at so that it can show it again later during an outage. As scheduler data gets updated, the browser also remembers those changes.
- While offline, you’ll be able to see information on the scheduler and in the appointment summary (subject to the limitations already discussed).
- The next time you log in to Curve Hero that data will be “forgotten” by the browser and it will start remembering all over again as you move through the scheduler.
This new functionality will allow you to have access to critical appointment information for patients if your internet connection is not working. Luckily, ISP outages are rare and do not normally last very long these days.
How will you know if this is happening?
Hero will notify you when this feature kicks in. A red “Offline” message will appear in the bottom left corner of the application. If you lose internet connection from your ISP, there will likely be other indications, such as any other web applications not working.
Once your connection is restored, Curve Hero will begin to work as normal again.
We understand that these issues arise and we want to give you an option which lets you continue working as much as possible throughout any sort of interruption to your internet connection.
I find it very inspiring to read the works of the great authors so it should come as no surprise that this blog post just seemed to flow so naturally. It’s been two weeks since we wrapped up Orange Summit 2018 at the beautiful Sun Valley Resort in Sun Valley Idaho.
I'm happy to announce the release of an exciting new feature: the ability to itemized your adjustments before posting them. Until now, invoice adjustments in Curve Hero were automatically applied to the relevant line items and spread out evenly. You did not get the option of allocating amounts to individual line items before saving. We’ve changed that!
I love nothing more than looking through pages and pages of reports, sorted by all types of variables, collated and compiled together into an alphanumeric nightmare. Did I say love? Typo! I meant loathe. If only there was a way that I could see my important decision-driving data presented to me in some kind of dental dashboard. There has to be a better way!
Have you ever participated in beta testing for a new feature in Curve Hero? How about chatted with someone named “Jeff” about features like custom fields or our new statements? Have submitted a customer service ticket about something you think would make Curve Hero better? If you can answer “yes” to any of these questions then you have interacted with the design team at Curve Dental.
Are you tired of waiting for the insurance companies to snail mail Explanation of Benefits (or EOBs) to your office? According to the United States Postal Service, the target delivery time for any letter in the United States outside the local delivery area is three to five days. With today’s speed of business, waiting for important information to arrive by mail represents a whip lash halt in productivity. Curve Hero can grab the same information in heartbeat, and save you the stiff neck.
Curve Dental is proud to announce that our newly revised account statements are now in the hands of everybody! We have listened to our customers and revised our statements into a more efficient and easier-to-understand format. Let’s take a look shall we?
